I'm looking for an exhaust that sounds throaty, but isn't drowning. But I don't have that much money to spend on an expensive exhaust. Any ideas on what I need to look at and research? Any responses will be welcomed.

Hi,
I installed a Roadster Sport muffler on my 01 sounds great very mello. Also when you buy these you can purchase an insert for the tail tip to quiet it even more for long trips, about 300.00 insert about 30.00

Check with both Goodwin and Moss Miata, several options around $350. I just got a Roadstar II and it sounds great, was simple to install and has removable baffles.

I have a 2012 MX5, and did also find the exhaust note a bit flat, There is a specialist Exhaust manufacturer in Salisbury UK, and they will supply a replacement 'Tuned ' exhaust that is not too expensive to replace the back box.
