For starters, I think we've all cursed frozen lug nuts, so I offer this astonishing solution that was sent me by an ol' Navy buddy:

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ba2_1475277076

I've not tried it, but it can't hurt.

UPDATE:

I am told that a 10 second blast with a lighter wouldn't heat the nut/bolt sufficiently to enable the wax to penetrate the threads. (Try a torch?)
And furthermore:

"Here's the cold, hard facts from the April/May 2007 edition of MACHINIST'S WORKSHOP:
They did a test of penetrating oils where they measured the force required to loosen rusty test devices.
The lower the number of pounds the better.

Product...............Average load .. Price per fluid ounce
Penetrating oil.....516 pounds......None
WD-40 .............. .238 pounds......$0.25
PB Blaster ..........214 pounds......$0.35
Liquid Wrench ...127 pounds.......$0.21
Kano Kroil ..........106 pounds .....$0.75
ATF-Acetone mix.. 53 pounds.....$0.10

YMMV!

My Source: Dave DuBois - from the MG forum (Many Miata owners were/are MG owners, in my experience)

Good luck.

Regards,
bill
