Just bought a 2007 MX-5 Hardtop/Conv in excellent condition, it is now on a truck and suppose to be here on Tuesday. It has 88k miles and has been maintained according to requirements. What might I look forward to regarding problems and what can I do to avoid them? Also, does this model have a timing belt or a chain ?

Thanks, looking forward to finding my way around here and getting info on my new little beauty.

Congratulations Tim. Post pictures when you can.

Your 2007 has a timing chain. I can't comment of problems, etc. ... to watch out for as I have only had my 2007 for several months but I don't think there are (m)any. Just continue the regular maintenance.

My 2008 PRHT GT Auto/Paddles is still perfect! It has 32,000 miles on it. My 2002 has 53,000 miles and is also perfect; well, there is a pesky rattle somewhere out back. May be something in trunk. i'll remove everything and see when I next drive it. Oh, I forgot. It needs a low beam ballast. Anybody got one for sale?

No problems so far (only had 2 months), and I LOVE it so far.
