My 93 Miata with 14000 miles idles very rough for about a minute just after starting. Any ideas?

14,000 miles is nothing. First run a fuel injector cleaner, then hook it up to a reader and check out error codes and go from there to see what sensors may say. Since it is a 1993, might as well replace plugs, ignition wire set, and filters if they are still original.

I would also check for vaccum leaks.

That's very low mileage. Was it supposed to be 140,000? I have a '96 that had a rough idle last year. I found out the crankshaft keyway, key, pulley keyway and timing belt sprocket were hogged out. I replaced the sprocket, pulley, pulley bolt, custom filed a new key, and glued the parts on with Loctite 660. It took about 2 days. I had to be careful as this was one-shot deal. If it didn't work it was either a new crank or a used engine.
So far the engine is smooth as silk, and a little peppier because the timing was also corrected by this repair.
