Jackson Racing Supercharger

My son did the work on his car. He is an ASE master tech. He gave up our TR4A project to buy the Mazda. First mod was a lightened flywheel and header, done at the same time. Then came the Borla exhaust. Boss Frog roll bars were next. The flywheel header combo improved acceleration immensely. Then he added the supercharger and water inter cooler. Water reservoir is the header tank for the radiator with a small electric pump. Then we added a K&N air filter, home made cool air inlet trap and heat shieldng over the header. We were autocrossing the car. We could not turn or stop, so lighter wheels and slicks were next for race days. We could use a lot stickier slick but can not afford them. Then slotted and cross drilled rotors and metallic brake pads. We had to add a Kirkey seat and 5 point harness to get times to come down when racing. The one time it was dynoed, we were making 156 at the rear wheel with a warped head and slightly blown head gasket. When we fixed the head, it had to be shaved .070 (the max for this head). Now we think we have nearly 200 hp at the rear wheels. On the street, we can not seriously get on it until about 3000 in 2nd. Full throttle in 1st gives a right side slide because of a melting rubber no traction condition. Power shifting to 2nd and full throttle does the same thing until the car speed starts to catch up to the tires. So, we go easy. Easy driving yields average 26 to 28 mpg. The car will hit the electronic throttle stop at 132.5. We drive daily on Kumho soft compound tires and replace them around 30,000 miles. The car has not had the bottom end done and is at 160,000 miles now.
